PERFECT line manuals are handcrafted! No modifications in some 3D programs, no graphic tricks. We built everything what you can find in our manuals, and then we took pictures of each stage of the construction. When we thought about buildings, we thought about it for 14 days without a break! Looking for inspiration and testing what has already been invented, we invited groups of children and whole families to play. We carefully watched the people playing and building and we recorded and took down everything. . Within two weeks, a lot of interesting ideas were implemented, which is why the choice of the building was extremely difficult. Ultimately, a textbook was created with thirty instructions of very different difficulty levels. However, this was not the end of the work. The prepared instructions had to pass one more stage – practical tests among children who always have the last word with us.
ARCHITECTURAL PLANS
Knowing what shape our new PERFECT foam blocks would be, we made plans. The first day, however, it turned out that it was not that simple. Yes, there was no problem with the construction of small pieces of furniture, but the symmetrical rug for the doggie turned out to be a challenge. Over the next few days, we built animals, means of transport, houses, fences, etc. Overnight we learned that playing with these blocks is not that simple and that before the plan is implemented, many unsuccessful attempts must be made, because PERFECT line needs time to get acquainted.
USEFUL CONNECTORS
At the end of the week, we realized that the rectangular elements filling the holes of the blocks (which we initially wanted to dispose of) could be useful for joining. These little parts made our task so much easier and the work started moving fast. Thanks to the rectangular cubes, which we call connectors, we started to build much more interesting, and at the same time, less complicated blocks.
FOAM WHEEL
A huge leap in construction process was made after a week of shooting a commercial. One of the parents of the children / actors joined the fun and turned out to be an outstanding instructor! He built a large gear wheel and thus paved the way for the construction of circular and semicircular structures such as an igloo, tunnel, house, ball and other multi-functional wheels. The last days of working on the instructions were marked by the most interesting and effective constructions, because we could easily create everything that came to our mind.
TEST GROUP
When the instructions were prepared, it was time to test them. We printed a few copies and delivered them to a kindergarten together with the largest set of blocks. There were workshops for several weeks when everyone could play and test the instructions. Finally, we received a number of corrections from the teachers. It made the blocks even better.
Our thoughts after two weeks of play are almost as important as the photos taken. The most important conclusion is that the PERFECT series are workshop blocks. Why? The beginnings were difficult, the construction sometimes took a long time and there were moments of doubt. We managed to come up with interesting solutions only after a few days of fun. Some ideas might not be realized at all without the help of invited guests. The greatest joy of “fun” came when we got to know all the possibilities of the blocks. This means that when the PERFECT set appeared at the picnic, the random children playing with it did have enough time to appreciate the possibilities of the blocks in such a short time. It works differently in case of workshops, where you can give the participants appropriate tips or propose a set of instructions. It is even better when it is possible to organize periodic activities so that the children themselves have time to discover the advantages of the PERFECT line.
